Hey, in this Daily Dynamo episode, I want to talk about perfection and how you can overcome that by focusing on the opposite of perfection.

Hey, this is Chinmai Swamy.

Welcome to another episode of Daily Dynamo. Today I want to talk about perfection. That's right, perfection is the number one cause of all the ideas which doesn't get done.

That's right.

And I've been a victim of perfection many times in the past.

And sometimes even now, it pulls me towards it. And how do you overcome perfection?

How do you beat it?

Well, you don't beat perfection. You focus on the opposite.

What is the opposite of perfection?

It's improvement. That's it.

That's right.

So when you improve, you are not aiming for perfection. Because when you're perfect, you're aiming for one thing.

Like let's compare the perfection is you're comparing yourself with something ideal, something which you think is a 100% ideal scenario when you don't know what it is but you think it is, the sooner you the closer you get to the ideal scenario, the more further away it gets.

So you're either comparing it with something, an image you created in the past or an image you have got inspired by someone else. And so that's what perfection is.

What is improvement?

Improvement is something you have measured and you want to improve slightly a little bit more than what you have gained now. And that means you're comparing it with what you already have, what you have already created, and you are aiming for something you can measure.

You can assess.

So you can know whether you're whether you're on track to getting improved to where you are aiming for or you're off track. So it's completely in control. Another way of looking at it above perfection is putting you at effect it making you a victim, because every time you aim for perfection, it's telling you can't do it because you never arrive there.

The improvement, you know, when you arrive there, it's always making you feel confident. It makes you feel you have achieved. And another way of looking at perfection is perfection is a target. It's it always makes you a failure because you never arrive.

So it makes you feel like you're not good enough or you need to learn something more.

You need to buy something else.

You need to have a better camera.

You need to have a better software.

You need to have a new team.

You need to have more of a different

You need to redesign your website.

You need to have a new funnel software.

You keep looking for something, something, something.

Improvement is you going to apply what you have and get success, get improvements, you're going to measure. Yeah, this worked. That didn't work. So you got to go from one improvement to the next improvement.

And that's what success is.

The definition of success is some of all validated improvements. So when you validate every improvement, you are getting success.

That's your success.

And when you aim for perfection, you know you'll never get it and you will always feel like a failure.

So how do you overcome that is just know that every time you define what you want to achieve, what you want to accomplish in life, write it down. If you can write it down, you can measure it.

If you can see it, you can aim for it and you can get it done. If you can't write down, if you can't describe your perfect scenario, then it's not a perfect scenario. If you it's always in your mind. If you write it down, you know, you will get there and you just create a gradient of how you will take small steps towards going towards your goal.

And that's it.

Once you do that, you will be able to achieve and accomplish anything you have set out to. And that, my friend, is how you beat perfection and get things done.
